WHY CHOOSE OAK DECKS?

Oak decks are milled into various profiles, thicknesses and lengths, and are provided with a tongue and groove for longitudinal connection of the planks into a surface. On the front (external, visible) side, they are shaped differently. They are used in interiors as oak cladding planks or oak floor planks. They can be used to cover both ceilings and walls in the interior, as well as to create various suspended ceilings, floors and other elements. In the exterior, they are used for luxurious underpinning of buildings (e.g. roof overhangs), on luxurious facades, fences and also in the gables of houses.

There are many reasons to choose oak flooring for your home, restaurant, guesthouse or hotel, as well as a pergola or winter garden. The main ones are that it is incredibly hard and durable and is valued for its beautiful, densely packed fibers. Thanks to the density of the fibers, it is naturally resistant to moisture, insects and mold. The basic properties of oak wood are hardness, strength, toughness and durability. Of our woods, it resists not only weather conditions, but also the alternation of moisture and dryness the longest, oak cladding is low-maintenance. Oak wood has always been popular in furniture and construction. In England, a whole century was named after it – the age of oak (1500 – 1600)

Nowadays, modern aesthetics and a modern lifestyle emphasize individuality. Cladding is the only element of a building that definitely creates a decisive first impression. Wooden oak cladding is always unique and will enchant everyone who loves wood with its beautiful properties: natural diversity and lively appearance, durability, good construction properties, ecological attitude and the speed that is made possible during construction. Wooden oak flooring is gaining a reputation for prestige due to all the above properties and also because its aesthetic value is increasingly recognized in modern architectural approaches.

OAK WOODEN DECKS AND THEIR LONGEVITY

In terms of hardness and other properties such as density and longevity, oak flooring is comparable to exotic woods. Oak flooring does not have such a high purchase price as exotic woods. It is available in a dark brown color and, even without treatment, oak flooring can last for several decades.

Wooden oak planks are more than easy to install, which is why we can offer you oak planks as a sale of the planks themselves and the underlying beams.

Outdoor wooden structures require precise construction methods to withstand time and weather, which is why we will also manufacture and deliver turnkey oak cladding.

VISUALLY ATTRACTIVE OAK DECK MATERIAL

Oak is very resistant to mechanical wear and tear. When exposed to weather, it turns grey over time and changes its structure minimally for a long time.

That is why oak planks are suitable as cladding, and not only for wooden buildings. You can use them in houses built from literally any building material. Thanks to the fact that wooden oak planks are attached to the house using a supporting grid, a ventilated gap is created between the wooden cladding and the building itself. For both brick and wooden houses, ventilated plank cladding is a safe solution, because even if humidity increases somewhere in the wall, moisture from the building can evaporate through the ventilated gap.

Wooden oak decking is suitable for both residential houses and large public buildings, as well as commercial and residential buildings. Wooden cladding protects the basic structure from environmental influences, and is also an important design and aesthetic element of the building.

SHOULD I TREAT EXTERIOR OAK DECK PANEL OR LET IT TURN GREY?

Oak does not need a surface treatment in outdoor conditions, as it can last for about 20 to 30 years without decaying without direct contact with the ground. Untreated oak will turn grey in about 2-3 years due to sunlight and moisture. The color first changes from the points most exposed to weathering and evens out over a few years, depending on the conditions. The greying of wood can be slowed down by treating the wood with transparent wood preservatives. Exterior cladding made of oak also does not need to be surface treated, as the material oak can withstand UV radiation and moisture. However, the wood will turn grey over the years. Remember that during greying the tone of the oak terrace surface may become uneven. In order for oak surfaces to remain durable and attractive, it is important to check them annually for damage. If necessary, washing away dirt from the wood surface helps. We produce oak facades with visible or hidden joints in various widths and thicknesses according to the customer’s wishes.

ADVANTAGES OF OAK DECK?

Resistance and durability

Oak wood is one of the hardest and most durable types of wood, ensuring high resistance to wear, scratches and deformation. This property is ideal for homes with high frequency of use or for spaces with heavy furniture.

Stability

Oak is less prone to swelling and shrinking than some other woods, making it a good choice for more humid environments such as kitchens or hallways. Its high tannin content contributes to its excellent resistance to moisture.

Aesthetics

Each plank of oak flooring has a unique grain and texture, adding vibrancy and character to a space. Oak floors come in a wide range of colors and patterns, making it easy to match with a variety of interior styles.

Long service life

Oak floors can be refinished by sanding, which extends their lifespan. Unlike some other materials, such as laminate or PVC, oak floors can be easily repaired and maintained in good condition for many years.

Insulation properties

Oak wood has good insulating properties that help retain heat in a room and reduce the risk of echoes. This can contribute to heating savings and overall comfort in the interior.

Environmental friendliness

Wood is a renewable resource and, when properly processed, has a lower environmental impact than synthetic materials, making oak floors an environmentally friendly choice.

Overall, oak floors combine aesthetic, functional and ecological benefits that make them an excellent choice over other types of wood. Their durability, stability and longevity ensure that they are an ideal investment in quality living.

HOW TO TREAT OAK DECKS?

Oak planks are a popular choice for flooring and furniture due to their durability and aesthetics. To maintain their beauty and functionality, it is important to follow proper maintenance procedures. The following guidelines summarize the key aspects of caring for oak planks.

Regular cleaning

Dust removal : Vacuum or sweep dust and dirt regularly using a soft broom or a vacuum cleaner with soft brushes to avoid scratching the surface.

Washing : Use a slightly damp mop. A mop that is too wet can cause the wood to swell and warp.

Protective coatings

Oiling : It is recommended to oil oak wood once or twice a year with natural oils such as tung oil or linseed oil. The oil penetrates the wood and ensures its elasticity.

Lacquering : Lacquer creates a hard protective layer that protects against water and mechanical wear. May require occasional repainting.

Waxing : This method adds a subtle shine, but waxed surfaces are less durable than oiled or varnished surfaces. Waxing should be done more frequently.

Impregnation : The use of water-based or solvent-based impregnation provides protection against rot and mold.

Damage prevention

Maintaining Humidity : Keep the humidity in the room at 40-60% to prevent wood from swelling or cracking.

Furniture pads : Use felt pads under furniture legs to prevent scratches when moving.

Professional maintenance

Consider regular professional maintenance, which includes deep cleaning and inspection of the floor’s condition. Experts can recommend appropriate maintenance procedures and repairs.

By following these methods, you will ensure that your oak decking will remain beautiful and functional for many years.

HOW LONG DO OAK DECKS LAST?

Oak flooring is known for its longevity, which can last up to  100 years  or more if properly maintained. This type of flooring is made from hardwood, which contributes to its resistance to damage and wear.

Key features of oak planks:

Durability : Oak wood is very hard and tough, which means it resists mechanical damage such as scratches or dents.

Maintenance : Regular maintenance, such as sweeping and occasional sanding and varnishing, can significantly extend the life of your floor.

Aesthetics : Oak planks have a beautiful natural appearance and contribute to a warm interior climate.

If cared for properly, oak flooring can last for generations, making it a worthwhile investment in your home.
