Of our woods, it resists not only weather conditions, but also the alternation of moisture and dryness the longest, oak cladding is easy to maintain. Oak wood has always been popular in furniture making. In England, they named an entire century after it – the age of oak (1500 – 1600)

QUALITY AND LONGEVITY OF OAK TILES?

In terms of hardness and other properties such as density and longevity, oak cladding is comparable to exotic woods. Oak wooden cladding does not have such a high purchase price as exotic woods. It is available in a dark brown color and can easily last for several decades without treatment.

Oak wooden cladding is more than easy to install, which is why we can offer you oak facades in the form of selling the cladding boards and base beams themselves.

Outdoor wooden structures require precise construction methods to withstand time and weather, which is why we will also manufacture and deliver turnkey oak cladding.

VISUALLY ATTRACTIVE OAK TILE MATERIAL

Oak is very resistant to mechanical wear and tear. When exposed to weather, it turns grey over time and changes its structure minimally for a long time.

That is why oak facades are suitable as cladding, and not only for wooden buildings. You can use them for houses built from literally any building material. Thanks to the fact that wooden oak facades are attached to the house using a supporting grid, a ventilated gap is created between the wooden cladding and the building itself. For both brick and wooden houses, a ventilated facade is a safe solution, because even if humidity increases somewhere in the wall, the moisture from the building can evaporate through the ventilated gap.

Wooden oak cladding is suitable for both residential houses and large public buildings, as well as commercial and residential buildings. The wooden facade protects the basic structure from environmental influences, and is also an important design and aesthetic element of the building.

SHOULD I TREAT EXTERIOR OAK PANEL OR LET IT TURN GREY?

Oak does not need a surface treatment in outdoor conditions, as it can last for about 20 to 30 years without decaying without direct contact with the ground. Untreated oak will turn grey in about 2-3 years due to sunlight and moisture. The color first changes from the points most exposed to weathering and evens out over a few years, depending on the conditions. The greying of wood can be slowed down by treating the wood with transparent wood preservatives. Exterior cladding made of oak also does not need to be surface treated, as the material oak can withstand UV radiation and moisture. However, the wood will turn grey over the years. Remember that during greying the tone of the oak terrace surface may become uneven. In order for oak surfaces to remain durable and attractive, it is important to check them annually for damage. If necessary, washing away dirt from the wood surface helps. We produce oak facades with visible or hidden joints in various widths and thicknesses according to the customer’s wishes.

TYPES OF OAK TILES?

Oak cladding comes in a variety of styles and finishes that affect its appearance and use in interiors. The main types include striking ,  rustik  and  natur . Each of these types has its own specific characteristics and aesthetic properties.

Striking

Appearance : This type of cladding is characterized by distinctive and dominant patterns that are often associated with natural wood features such as knots and growth rings.

Use : Striking tiles are ideal for modern and minimalist interiors, where they can serve as a distinctive design element.

Material : They are usually made from quality oak wood, which is treated to highlight its natural beauty.

Rustic

Appearance : Rustic siding has a rougher, more natural look, often with a matte finish. This style highlights the imperfections of the wood, such as cracks and knots, giving the space an authentic, rustic feel.

Uses : Rustic tiles are suitable for traditional or country interiors, but also for modern spaces where owners want to add a warm and cozy element.

Material : These tiles are often made of solid oak or its veneer with natural finishes.

Nature

Appearance : Natural tiles have a softer and cleaner appearance. They are characterized by the natural colors of the wood without any significant finishing or decorative elements.

Use : This type is ideal for minimalist and modern interiors where the emphasis is on simplicity and elegance.

Material : Usually it is natural oak wood with minimal processing, which allows it to retain its original appearance.

HOW LONG WILL OAK PANEL LAST?

The lifespan of oak siding depends on several factors, including the type of wood treatment and the conditions in which it is used.

Lifespan of oak cladding

Untreated oak wood :

It will last approximately 20 to 30 years outdoors without surface treatment  . During this time, the wood will turn gray due to UV radiation and moisture.

Treated oak wood :

If oak wood is treated, its lifespan can be significantly increased. Heat-treated wood can last up to  30 years , while very durable exotic woods can reach a lifespan of  40 to 60 years .

Long life of oak wood :

Oak wood is known for its hardness and durability, which allows it to last for more than  1200 years  in ideal conditions, but cladding is normally expected to last for decades.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance, such as painting, can extend the life of your siding. It is recommended to paint every  4 to 7 years to keep the wood looking like new.

Indoors, oak cladding may require minimal maintenance, but outdoors it is recommended to protect it from moisture and direct contact with the ground.

Overall, with proper care and treatment, oak siding can provide long and aesthetically pleasing service.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOLID AND LAYERED OAK PANEL?

When choosing oak cladding, it is important to distinguish between  solid  and  laminated  wood, as each variant has its own specific properties, advantages and disadvantages.

Solid oak cladding

Definition and properties:

Solid oak cladding is made from a single piece of wood, which means it is highly durable and long-lasting. This type of cladding is often preferred for its natural beauty and uniqueness, as each piece of wood has its own character and structure.

Its robustness makes solid wood suitable for a variety of applications, including floors, walls and furniture. It is also less prone to warping due to changes in temperature and humidity.

Disadvantages:

Solid wood can be more expensive than laminated alternatives.

It may require more maintenance, including regular oiling or varnishing, to maintain its appearance and protection.

Laminated oak cladding

Definition and properties:

Laminated oak cladding consists of several layers of wood that are bonded together. This type of construction increases the stability of the cladding and reduces the risk of deformation caused by changes in humidity and temperature.

Layered tiles often offer better acoustic properties due to the use of insulating materials between the layers, which can be beneficial in spaces such as offices or conference rooms.

Disadvantages:

Since laminated cladding contains materials other than pure wood (e.g. adhesives), it may have a lower environmental value than solid wood.

They may lack some of the aesthetic qualities of solid wood, such as the unique texture and color of each piece.

HOW TO CARE FOR OAK TILES IN THE INTERIOR?

Caring for your interior oak cladding is key to maintaining its beauty and durability. Here are the main aspects to consider:

Maintenance and cleaning

Regular cleaning : Oak cladding should be wiped down regularly with a damp cloth. It is important that the cloth is not too wet to avoid damaging the wood.

Dust removal : Use a soft cloth or duster to remove dust and dirt. This will prevent dirt from settling and extend the life of the tiles.

Surface protection

Use of protective agents : It is recommended to apply special oils or waxes to oak cladding, which will enhance the natural color of the wood and provide it with protection against moisture and wear.

Damage Prevention : Avoid placing hot or wet objects directly on the surface of the tiles to prevent permanent damage.

Humidity and temperature

Humidity control : Maintain a stable humidity level in the room, ideally between 40-60%. Too high or low humidity can cause wood to warp.

Temperature conditions : Oak siding should be protected from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, which can cause the color to fade and the wood to crack.

Repairs

Damage repairs : In the event of scratches or other damage, special wood repair kits can be used to help restore the appearance of the tiles.

Professional maintenance : If more serious damage occurs, it may be advisable to contact a wood maintenance professional.

By following these recommendations, you can ensure that your oak siding remains beautiful and functional for many years.
